Portland Discovery Land & Sea Tours offers fully narrated trolley tours of Portland and narrated Lighthouse Cruises on Casco Bay, along with private charters both by trolley and by boat. Located on Commercial Street in Portland, it's a fun, fast-paced environment and all of our positions require quick thinking and outgoing personalities. Our season starts at the very beginning of May and runs through the end of October. Positions we are currently hiring for include:
Trolley drivers and guides: must possess a CDL with passenger endorsement and the "gift of gab" and the desire to show people around the wonderful city of Portland.
Deckhands: along with line-handling, safety procedures, general cleaning, and other boat-related duties, our deckhands also provide the narrated tours on our cruises and must enjoy speaking to groups large and small.
Tickets sales staff: The "front line" of our business, our ticket staff hands out our tour brochures on Commercial Street, educates customers on our various tours and processes sales through our ticket kiosk. Must enjoy being outside in all conditions and engaging customers.
Training is provided for all of our positions, and a desire to provide excellent customer service is most important.
