In 1974, Terry Gray began pouring concrete at this location in Topsham, Maine.
Richard Nixon was President of the United States (but not for long), Hank Aaron hit his 715th home run, breaking Babe Ruth's long-standing record, and Muhammad Ali knocked out George Foreman in the "Rumble in the Jungle".
Before opening Precast Concrete Products of Maine, Inc., Terry was a high school industrial arts teacher and moved on to building house foundations in the late 60's and early 70's.
Since then, with Terry's son Ben at the helm, the company has grown to provide a wide range of concrete products for both residential and commercial construction in mid-coast and southern Maine. Our core products include septic tanks and lift stations; manholes, catchbasins, and utility boxes; and most recently Stone Strong Retaining Wall Systems.
In January 2008 we installed a new computerized concrete batch plant, and retired our truck-mounted concrete mixers. The resulting improvement in efficiency and product quality control (as well as reducing our carbon footprint) is just another step in continuing to improve our products and services.
January 1st, 2016 Crooker Construction, LLC acquired Precast of Maine.
