New Mainer
Where did you move from and what made you make the move to Maine?
I'm originally from Pittsburgh but moved to Maine from Toronto, Ohio where I worked my first job in television news! I had the opportunity to move up in my career into a bigger market and when I saw Portland, Maine was an option I was so excited to explore a new city that had everything I was looking for-- proximity to the outdoors, mountains, the ocean and a great city to put down roots in!
How do you spend your time here in Maine?
I took up skiing a couple winters after moving here, learned how to golf, hike, explore new beaches and islands. There are so many hidden gems in Maine and I love taking the time to explore it all.
What do you love about working in Maine?
The people I work with are amazing. It's incredible to work with such a hard working team who cares about your wellbeing at work and outside of work. We have a work from anywhere policy so I love the flexibility of being able to work from a new restaurant, cafe, to even the beach with a good hotspot!
What do you love about living in Maine?
I love living here! I feel so lucky to have found a home and community here. Being able to spend time outside, enjoy the outdoors that not everyone is lucky enough to enjoy is something I don't take for granted!
Tell us a bit about your story!
I moved to Maine 5 years ago to pursue a career in journalism. I was lucky enough to live out that passion here in Maine but when priorities switched, I realized I was looking to slow down more, and enjoy life more! Now I get to spend time doing activities like hiking, getting more involved at my spin studio Rêve Cycling, and leaning into new hobbies like skiing and golfing.
