Meet Sophia Fitz, a University of Maine grad with a degree in Studio Art and a minor in Graphic Design. As an Innovate for Maine Fellow through @foster.innovation, she’s gaining real-world experience in Maine’s entrepreneurial scene.Sophia works as a graphic design intern for @movefreedesigns, an Acadia-based outdoor apparel and community brand, and @the.love.card, a company that spreads love through shareable heart cards. She creates graphics for social media and merchandise at Move Free, and is helping design a marketing campaign for The Love Card’s first retail store.She enjoys applying her art skills to real projects and says the internships have sharpened her client communication and portfolio. Outside of work, Sophia loves hiking, skiing, and exploring Maine—especially Sugarloaf and Baxter State Park.

Meet Abigail Hews, a Scarborough native and rising third-year at @northeastern. This summer, she’s a Software Development Co-op at @tylertechnologies, helping improve developer tools and logging systems for the company’s specialized programming language.Abigail’s journey with Tyler Tech began in high school through the Maine App Challenge, where she won a scholarship and made lasting connections—proof that networking pays off!She’s gaining hands-on experience in the full software development lifecycle while sharpening her coding skills. Outside of work, Abigail enjoys rock climbing, beach days, cooking, and coding side projects. Her favorite Maine spots include Casco Bay, Ferry Beach, and Scratch Bakery.
